Things to Know About Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite in the 2511 Release

As part of its ongoing development efforts, SAP has introduced new features across the Ariba ecosystem in Release 2511. At CCP Global, we want to highlight some of the most important updates in the Strategic Sourcing Suite (which generally includes Sourcing, Contracts, and SLP).

Sourcing

Ability to Block Access to Classic Sourcing for Project or Event Creation

SAP has moved the end-of-support deadline for Classic Sourcing to a date yet to be determined in 2026. If you’ve already transitioned to Guided Sourcing and want to enforce a consistent experience, you can now disable Classic Sourcing options. This ensures all users work within the Guided Sourcing interface, helping accelerate adoption and streamline training and support efforts.

Ability to Make Counteroffers in Guided Sourcing Events

Buyers can now propose counteroffers to suppliers during a new round of a sourcing event. This feature introduces a special negotiation round in multi-round bidding, providing an additional way to secure competitive pricing.

Contracts

Additional Types of Contract Workspaces Available in Guided Sourcing Full Projects

Users can now create Sales and Internal Contract Workspaces as part of a comprehensive sourcing process. Previously, only Procurement Contract Workspaces were available.

Supplier Eligibility Validation in Contract Workspaces

Template managers can now set supplier eligibility criteria for a workspace using registration and qualification statuses from SLP. These criteria can be validated during various stages of contract creation, allowing supplier onboarding and qualification efforts to run in parallel. Note: Existing contract workspaces will not update unless the template version is upgraded.

SLP/Risk

Ability to Exclude System-Generated Versions During ERP Sync

This feature ensures a new questionnaire version is created only if ERP sync changes the vendor-mapped questions of the current active version. This prevents unnecessary versions and maintains clarity in version tracking. To enable, set the SM Administration parameter Application.SM.QuestionnaireVersionOnERPSync to ‘yes’.

New Country/Region Risk Provider

Moody’s Analytics is now the default provider for country/region risk information, replacing the World Economic Forum. You can configure this setting in your Supplier Risk Administration menus.

Other Updates

  • AI Copilot opportunities with Joule, SAP’s generative AI tool, in Sourcing, Contracts, and SLP/Risk
  • Add, update, or remove URLs in Guided Sourcing Full Projects
  • Analysis updates: exclude reverted savings in reports and view predecessor project information
